The Bulgarian Studies Association (BSA) is pleased to announce the presentation of the new volume Living Bridges Across Time. 12th Joint Conference of Bulgarian and North American Scholars, which will take place on October 14, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the Institute of Balkan Studies with Center for Thracology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Sofia.

The volume is edited by Alexander Kostov, Anissava Miltenova, and Tracy Speed (BSA Treasurer and co-editor) and published by the Marin Drinov Academic Publishing House (BAS, 2025, 285 pp.). It includes a preface and 21 papers from the 12th Joint Conference of Bulgarian and North American Scholars, held in Sofia on June 15–16, 2024.

The conference was co-organized by the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology, the Council for Foreign Bulgarian Studies at BAS, and the Bulgarian Studies Association (USA). It marked the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Bulgaria and brought together researchers from both countries to discuss a wide range of topics of mutual scholarly interest.

The event and publication were made possible through the National Research Program “Development and Promotion of Bulgarian Studies Abroad,” funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The BSA extends warm congratulations to the editors, contributors, and all colleagues whose dedication made this publication possible.

📘 Living Bridges Across Time stands as a testament to the ongoing collaboration and friendship between scholars in Bulgaria and North America — a true “living bridge” across time and space.
