THE BULGARIAN STUDIES ASSOCIATION IS PLEASED TO PRESENT ITS SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD TO DR. SARAH CRAYCRAFT (HARVARD UNIVERSITY). THE BSA RECOGNIZES DR. CRAYCRAFT FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO ADVANCING BSA’S MISSION THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION OF A LECTURE AND FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE SUPPORTING THE ASSOCIATION’ S ACTIVITIES.

Dr. Craycraft is a Lecturer in the Committee on Degrees in Folklore and Mythology and Head Tutor of the undergraduate concentration in Folk & Myth at Harvard University. Her scholarship focuses on rural revitalization and intergenerational, urban-rural relationship building, as explored in her forthcoming monograph, The Village Project: Rural Revitalization in Contemporary Bulgaria (University of Wisconsin Press, expected June 2026).

The BSA warmly congratulates Dr. Craycraft for her dedication, initiative, and contributions to the Bulgarian Studies community
