От името на Българската Научна Асоциация (Bulgarian Studies Association) в САЩ ви поздравяваме с най-хубавия и светъл празник на българската писменост, просвета и култура. Празник на българското самосъзнание!
Нашата мисия е изучаването на всички аспекти на българското: език, литература, култура, история, археология, политика, икономика и международни отношения. Затова днес с радост споделяме празничното вълнение с академичната и културно-просветна общност, която продължава да се труди в тази сфера!
Този уникален български празник е свързал в едно майските букети с писменото слово! Помним късните майски дни, когато мирисът на люляци се носеше почти във всяка къща, майките беряха рано цъфналия здравец, натежалите божури и късните лалета, дъхавия люляк и пращаха децата си с китки в училище. Нямаше дете без цвете за любимия учител. Нямаше училище без венец за светите братя първоучители. Днес поднасяме букет цветя за техните следовници: учителите на нашето детство, които ни научиха да обичаме читанката и света на книгите, защото „народността не пада, там дето знанието живей!“.

On behalf of the Bulgarian Studies Association in the United States, we congratulate you on a most beautiful and bright holiday honoring Bulgarian letters, education, and culture – a celebration of Bulgarian self-awareness!
Our mission is the study of all aspects of Bulgarian heritage: language, literature, culture, history, archaeology, politics, economics, and international relations. So today we are happy to share the festive excitement with the academic and cultural community that continues to work in this field!
This uniquely Bulgarian holiday is bound up in bouquets of May flowers and the written word! We fondly recall the late days of May, when the scent of lilacs filled nearly every home, when mothers would pick the blooming geraniums, lush peonies, late season tulips, and fragrant lilacs, and would send their children to school carrying spring bunches. No child would go without a flower for their beloved teacher. No school would lack a flower wreath for our Holy Brothers and First Teachers. Today we offer a bouquet to honor their successors: the teachers of our childhood who instilled in us love for our first chitanka and the world of books, because “nationhood does not fall where knowledge lives!”
We are also delighted to share with you a fascinating traveling exhibition called “Alphabet and History,” which was created by Prof. Vasya Velinova, along with consultants Prof. Axinia Djurova (Corresponding Member of the BAS) and Prof. Kazimir Popkonstantinov.
